WERIGO SAGA Episode 6: The Handover

COLD OPEN. Black.

• CAPTION: 18 May 2026. Singapore.

PANEL 1. A dark boardroom at the top of a tower, the city glowing far below. Two men sit at the far end of a long black table, lit from behind so their glasses flash white. PAK CHAN, mid 50s, the chairman, still as a statue. PAK REMY, 29, the youngest numbers man the Board has ever had, tablet glowing in front of him. At the near end, a young man with his back to us: ODY.

• PAK CHAN: Bali. No showroom. No network. No team.
• PAK CHAN: You will build all of it.

PANEL 2. Close-up. Pak Remy slides the tablet across the table without looking up.

• PAK REMY: The budget is fixed. It will not move.
• PAK REMY: So. What price are you suggesting?
• ODY: For what?
• PAK REMY: For your survival.

PANEL 3. Pak Chan leans into the light for the first time. No smile.

• PAK CHAN: Fail, and you never sit at this table again.

PANEL 4. ODY's face for the first time. He is not scared. A small, stubborn smile.

• ODY: Then give me the island.
• SYSTEM (gold, huge, only the reader sees it): [CONTRACT ACCEPTED] [HIDDEN CLASS: THE OPERATOR]

Title card. EPISODE 6 · THE HANDOVER.

PANEL 5. Present day. Night. The Werigo shop in Canggu, shutters half down. Dewa walks Arya in.

• CAPTION: Present day. Werigo, Canggu. 10:48 PM.
• DEWA: Before you deliver to the Visitor, you report to the Operator.
• ARYA: I thought you were the guild master.
• DEWA: I run the guild. He runs the island.

PANEL 6. The back office. A desk buried under two laptops, three buzzing phones and sticky notes, a whiteboard map of Bali full of pins. Tiny quest windows float around the man at the desk, stacked like browser tabs.

• SFX: BZZT. BZZT. BZZT.
• SYSTEM: [ACTIVE QUESTS: 47]
• PHONE (WhatsApp pop-up): Pak, any update on the payment? 🙏
• ODY (on the phone, not looking up): Yes Pak, today. ...Probably.

PANEL 7. ODY looks up. Arya's System tries to read him and glitches.

• SYSTEM (Arya's view): [PLAYER: ODY] [CLASS: THE OPERATOR] [RANK: ???] [ERROR: STATS TOO HIGH TO DISPLAY]
• ARYA (thought): Question marks...?
• ODY: You're the Silent Rider. Sit. The coffee's cold, sorry.

PANEL 8 · FLASHBACK, THREE PANELS.

• (a) May 2026. An empty building in Denpasar, bare concrete, wires hanging, one plastic chair. A storm of quest windows flies at ODY. SYSTEM: ! MAIN QUEST: BUILD WEDISON BALI · Sub-quests: 214. ODY: "...Two hundred and fourteen."
• (b) Night. The first Wedison SuperCharge canopy. ODY plugs a gun into a bike. SFX: KLIK. CAPTION: "The first three stations. Denpasar. Sunset Road. Tohpati."
• (c) A map of Bali from the sky. Three green points flare and lines of light race between them under the island. SYSTEM (world): [ISLAND NETWORK: ONLINE] [SYSTEM AWAKENING IN LINKED BIKES...]
• ODY (voice-over): Every station I open is a gate. The night the first three opened, your Athena woke up.

PANEL 9. Back in the office. Arya, stunned.

• ARYA: So the powers. The guild. Werigo...
• ODY: Werigo is how the visitors get in. I built the Visitor Pass so tourists could ride Bali the quiet way.
• ODY: Your Chloe just got one.

PANEL 10. ODY slides a delivery card across the desk: Chloe & Jake · 9:00 AM · yellow Athena · navy EdPower.

• ODY: Nine sharp. Eighty percent battery minimum. Two clean helmets each. Phone holder on. Full briefing. And show them how to charge at the villa.
• ARYA: Yes, boss.
• ODY: Don't call me boss. My bosses are much scarier.

PANEL 11. 8:59 AM. The villa gate. Chloe with a coffee, listening for engines. Nothing.

• CHLOE (thought): I'll hear them coming. Scooters are loud.

PANEL 12. Behind her, a polite knock. Arya and Komang are already there with a yellow Athena and a navy EdPower.

• SFX: TOK TOK.
• CHLOE (shouting): How long have you been standing there?!
• KOMANG: About a minute. They're quiet.

PANEL 13 · HANDOVER CHECKLIST. Four panels, each with a small green window.

• (a) Close-up of the dash: 94%. ARYA: "Delivered at 94. You'll never get one under 80." SYSTEM: [BATTERY ✓]
• (b) Komang hands over two helmets each. KOMANG: "Two each. Cleaned this morning." SYSTEM: [HELMETS ✓]
• (c) Komang clicks Chloe's phone into the holder. CHLOE: "Oh, that's clever." SYSTEM: [PHONE HOLDER ✓]
• (d) The briefing. ARYA: "It's quiet, so people won't hear you. Tap the horn at corners. And keep left." JAKE: "Left. Left. Left." SYSTEM: [BRIEFING ✓]

PANEL 14 · HOME CHARGING. Arya lifts the Wedison charging adapter out of the bag: plug into a normal wall socket on the villa terrace, connector into the charging port on the LEFT side of the Athena's inner front panel, low under the handlebar. Jake's EdPower: the port on top of the centre tunnel in front of the seat.

• ARYA: One end in the wall, one end in the bike. Plug in when you get home, like your phone. By breakfast it's full.
• SYSTEM: [NEW SKILL: OVERNIGHT CHARGE]
• CHLOE: That's... it?
• KOMANG: That's it. Normal socket. Anything happens, WhatsApp us, eight to eight. We come to you.

PANEL 15. The keys change hands. Two windows burst open, yellow for Chloe, navy for Jake.

• SYSTEM (yellow): [VISITOR PASS ACTIVATED · 7 DAYS] [CLASS: WANDERER]
• SYSTEM (navy): [VISITOR PASS ACTIVATED · 7 DAYS] [CLASS: TORQUE HUNTER]
• JAKE: Did your phone just...
• CHLOE: Yours too?

PANEL 16 · FULL PAGE. Chloe's first ride on the yellow Athena through the Canggu rice fields, laughing, Jake beside her on the EdPower.

• SFX: VMMM...
• CHLOE (thought): I can hear the birds. On a scooter. I can hear the birds.

PANEL 17. Night. The dark villa courtyard, a small green charging light on each bike. Chloe and Jake asleep inside.

• CAPTION: While they slept, the bikes filled up.

PANEL 18 · CLIFFHANGER. The same night. The arrivals hall at the airport, almost empty. Two men walk out of the glass doors, suits dark, glasses flashing under the lights. Pak Chan. Pak Remy.

• SYSTEM (red, enormous): ! WORLD EVENT: THE AUDIT · The Board has landed.

PANEL 19. ODY's phone lights up on his desk. A voice message from Pak Chan.

• PAK CHAN (voice message): Seven days, ODY. Show me this island can stand on its own.
• PAK REMY (voice message): Or we switch it off. All of it.
• SYSTEM (red): [AUDIT: 7 DAYS] [FAIL CONDITION: THE GUILD IS DISBANDED]

PANEL 20. ODY stares at the screen, then at the whiteboard, then laughs once, tired.

• ODY: Seven days. Same as the visitors.
